My Bucket List And Done It List!

Conceived In 2019

Why Publish My Bucket List?

That’s easy to answer: to hold myself to account and remind myself of the many wonderful things life has to offer, as well as some of the things I’ve achieved.
And, to inspire you to write one too!
Writing my bucket list (and, more importantly, publishing it) was directly inspired by Paula Reid of Live Life To The Full. You can read her amazingly adventurous bucket lists on her website, and find out how Paula inspired me here on 10 Mile Hike.

Below then are my Bucket List and Done It List. I hope you’ll join me for some tales of adventure along the way, as I move things from one list to the other. But what would fill me with the deepest pleasure is to inspire you to get outside and, perhaps as Paula would say, Live Live To The Full!

So What’s Next?

Working through my bucket list: Stephanie Boon standing beside the Peddars Way National Trail sign

At the finish of The Norfolk Coast Path and Peddars Way National Trail, 2018

A lot of the stuff on my bucket list feels very ‘pie in the sky’ at the moment. And not because I don’t feel fit enough, or because I think I’m too old to fit it all in before I seize up! (You can never be too old; things can be combined after all.) But (and for me it’s always been a huge barrier to anything) it’s that old, dirty word, ‘cash’. I have a serious lack of it! But I’m not going to let that stop me getting stuck in.

So, with empty pockets but loads of enthusiasm I’ve decided to start in the UK (and try and save some pennies for future travel as I go…). And I reckon the most exciting, realistic challenge on the list is to hike all our incredible National Trails, because

I can't think of a better way of seeing the place I'm lucky enough to call home!

The Cotswold Way, My Next Bucket List Challenge!

The Cotswold Way is next on my National Trails bucket list: it’s close to home, it’s only 100 miles (I have a few time constraints at the mo) and the countryside is stunning. Right now (September 2019) I’m beginning to look at the logistics and practicalities. Exciting times!

Why not join me and follow along on the blog? It would be fab to have you along for the whole journey, including the planning process. Head over to any blog post and put your email address in the ‘keep updated’ section in the right hand column. That way you’ll never miss a post!

Happy Hiking
